Health

Private and confidential

All patients, enrolled or casual, under the age of 22 are entitled to free sexual health visits at most of our East Health clinics*.

You do not have to be enrolled at the clinic, which means you can be a casual patient. 

Sexual Health consultations can include:

 

  • Sexual health assessments

  • Promotion of safe sexual health

  • Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STI's)

  • Education and advice concerning any sexual health matter

  • Contraceptive advice including long-acting and oral contraception. Some other common names for long-acting contraception options are IUD, Mirena and Jadelle

  • Jadelle Insertion 

  • IUD introduction 

  • DEPO or depo-provera contraceptive injection 

  • Screening services

  • Referral to secondary services as required, including gender identity, sexual abuse and assault services.

No referral is required and visits are completely confidential. 

*The team at Auckland Family Medical currently do not provide the free sexual health visits as described here.
